Vinhomes Green Paradise Enters Global Voting for 7 Wonders of Future Cities
Vinhomes Green Paradise in Can Gio has entered New7Wonders' global voting campaign, competing among more than 260 participants as Vietnam showcases its vision for sustainable, smart and human-centric urban development.
The campaign aims to identify the next generation of urban wonders worldwide by recognizing cities and developments that demonstrate sustainable development, technological advancement, innovation and human-centric design. Through this initiative, New7Wonders seeks to redefine the vision of 21st-century cities and identify urban icons that could shape the future.
Launched on October 31, 2025, the campaign invited cities and developments from around the world to submit proposals and applications until October 31, 2026. Among more than 260 Participants worldwide, Vinhomes Green Paradise became the first Official Participant in the campaign.
The initiative has now officially entered its public voting phase, which will determine the list of future urban wonders.
From November 2026 to April 2027, public voting will establish a longlist of 77 Participants. Based on its defined criteria, New7Wonders will subsequently select and announce 28 Official Finalist Participants.
The campaign will continue from May to October 2027, with the 28 Official Finalist Participants competing through three qualifier stages. Millions of votes will determine the final outcome.
On October 31, 2027, the “7 Wonders of Future Cities” will be selected, officially confirmed, validated and declared by New7Wonders.
As the campaign’s first Official Participant, Vinhomes Green Paradise is bringing Vietnam's urban development ambitions to a global platform. The project showcases Vinhomes’ ESG++ development vision through its approach to ecological planning, technology integration and quality of life.
Support and participation from communities in Vietnam and across the world will play an important role in promoting Vietnam as a leading example of future-oriented urban living.
Nguyen Thu Hang, CEO of Vinhomes, said the cities of the future would be defined by the value they create for people and the planet.
“We believe the cities of the future will be defined by the value they create for people and the planet. New7Wonders’ ‘7 Wonders of Future Cities’ initiative offers a meaningful opportunity for humanity to celebrate visionary approaches to urban development. At Vinhomes, we remain committed to creating urban wonders that stand the test of time. Vinhomes Green Paradise embodies this aspiration through its ESG++ standards, harmonizing residents’ quality of life, technology, environmental stewardship, and long-term economic value. This global voting campaign provides an opportunity for Vinhomes to share Vietnam’s vision and aspirations with the international community, inspiring the world to envision a new generation of cities that offer a truly exceptional quality of life. We look forward to receiving the support and participation of communities in Vietnam and internationally to help promote a shared vision for the cities of the future, while bringing Vietnam's aspiration to shape a sustainable future to the world stage,” she said.
According to New7Wonders, the voting process has been designed to be simple and convenient. Participants are required to provide their full name, country and email address, while providing a phone number is optional. Detailed information about voting rules and the different stages of the campaign will be published on the official New7Wonders website.
Jean-Paul de la Fuente, Director of New7Wonders and Chairman of the “7 Wonders of Future Cities” campaign, highlighted the broader significance of the initiative during the official switch-on ceremony.
“Today we have switched on more than a voting platform - we have switched on a global conversation about the future of our cities and for the next year, people everywhere have the opportunity to discover, engage with and champion the places they believe should become global symbols of urban progress,” he said.
The “7 Wonders of Future Cities” campaign builds on New7Wonders’ international legacy as an organisation widely recognised for its 2011 “New 7 Wonders of Nature” campaign. With its global reach, the initiative is expected to attract widespread international interest and participation.
Under the campaign's assessment framework, Vinhomes Green Paradise demonstrates its development approach across three core pillars: Environmental & Nature, Smart City and Human-Centric development.
Under the Environmental & Nature criterion, the project benefits from its coastal location in Can Gio, Ho Chi Minh City, adjacent to the sea and the UNESCO-recognized Can Gio Mangrove Biosphere Reserve.
Spread across 2,870 hectares, the development has been planned with a construction density of approximately 17%. More than 930 hectares are allocated to green spaces and water bodies across the project.
Under the Smart City criterion, Vinhomes Green Paradise is designed to integrate the Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) into urban governance, operations and environmental monitoring.
The integration of these technologies into urban infrastructure is intended to optimise resources, improve operational efficiency, strengthen management capabilities and support a modern, safe and civilised living environment.
The third pillar, Human-Centric development, focuses on integrating amenities and services around a people-first philosophy. Residents are expected to have access to a comprehensive ecosystem of internationally benchmarked services covering healthcare, education, senior living, culture, sports, entertainment and dining.
Vinhomes Green Paradise’s entry into the global voting phase marks an important milestone in the development’s pursuit of international recognition. It also provides a platform to present Vietnam’s urban development vision and ambitions to the global community.
People in Vietnam and other countries can vote for Vinhomes Green Paradise through the official campaign website, www.7wondersfc.com.
